It was a Super time in church yesterday during the old school service, great ambience, lovely praises (as of old), presentation was superb, MC was mega on point, people came in interesting old school attires, creative presentation in drama and of course the Word was apt - encouraging us not to throw away our old values for whatever reason. All in the name of civiliazation, we have forgetten our Roots, discarded our values and diminished in self-worth and in attitude.
RELEVANT FACTS FROM THE PAST.
1. Respect for parents/elders. 1Tim 5:1.
2. Respect for the human body. Modesty in dressing both by male and female. 1Tim 2:9.
3. Value of a good name. Prov 22:1.
4. Women treasure cooking for their fmilies to expensive nails.
5. Contentment.
6. Hardwork. Prov 22:29
7. Intergrity.
8. Violence was not encouraged.
9. Faithfulness was premiun. Being faithful to God. Also among couples.
10. Respect for God and the things of God.
11. Passion for knowledge. Prov 19:2
12. Discipline in the family.
13. Value for family, marriage and children. Gen 18:19.
14. Love to start small. Prov 13:11.
We should really go back in time and apply these values to our lives.
Our generation is the generation that will become grand dads and grand mums with tatoos, dirty language etc. How do we then look into the eyes of our innocent grandchildren and explain to them how we came about all these?
